The Voice of Rugby Dinner 2025

  • Prestonfield House Hotel Edinburgh UK (map)

Our annual Voice of Rugby Dinner was supported once again by our much-valued sponsors, Carbon Financial Partners and The Craneware Group, in the opulent surroundings of Prestonfield House. To mark the Scotland v Wales Six Nations clash, we had a fantastic line-up of entertainment and special guests, skilfully guided by our resident MC Rory Lawson. Our guest speakers were two Welsh and British & Irish Lions heroes, Alun Wyn Jones and Shane Williams, and entertainment was provided by comedian, singer and impressionist Jess Robinson. Plus Scotland Men’s Co-Captain Finn Russell, and Scotland Ladies’ Lisa Thomson popped in to chat all things Six Nations! We rounded out the evening and danced into the wee hours with music from Edinburgh legends, Bleeker.

We also had an exciting addition to the Dinner this year - the inaugural presentation of the Bill McLaren Foundation Volunteer of the Year award. The incredibly deserving winners, husband and wife power couple Jim and Margaret Smith, were surprised and presented with their award by Trustee, and Bill’s daughter, Linda Lawson, alongside Alun Wyn Jones. To find out more about our fantastic winners from Leith Rugby, have a look here.

Thanks to our generous attendees on the night we raised an incredible £80,000 to continue Bill’s legacy, and to provide sporting opportunities for young people in Scotland and beyond!

We are so very grateful for all the support we received to make this incredible evening happen. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!
